The House of Representatives has approved the HALT Fentanyl Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at making the temporary class-wide scheduling order for fentanyl-related substances (FRS) permanent. The bill was led in the House by Congressman Bob Latta from Ohio’s 5th district and Congressman Morgan Griffith from Virginia’s 9th district.
“The HALT Fentanyl Act helps protect American communities by tackling deadly fentanyl-related substances and saving lives,” stated Congressmen Latta and Griffith. They expressed gratitude to their Republican colleagues, specifically mentioning Speaker Johnson, Leader Scalise, Whip Emmer, and Chairwoman McClain for their support of both the House bill and its Senate counterpart. “House Republicans will continue to advance policies that fight the opioid epidemic and make American communities safer.”
Congressman Latta also delivered remarks on the House floor in favor of the HALT Fentanyl Act.
