Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, recently addressed constituents through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), sharing updates and greetings related to Labor Day, military service academy nominations, and tax policy.

On September 1, 2025, Latta posted a message recognizing workers in his district and nationwide: “Wishing all of the hardworking men and women of #OH5 and across the country a Happy Labor Day! https://t.co/Vx9USqn8gq”

Two days later, on September 3, he reached out to students interested in military careers: “Attention #OH5 students! My office is now accepting applications for military service academy nominations. The deadline to apply is October 10, 2025. Learn more and apply here: https://t.co/HkEO2hUU5i”

On September 4, Latta highlighted recent legislative achievements concerning tax cuts for working families: “The working family tax cuts delivered the largest tax cut for middle and working class Americans in history. By eliminating taxes on overtime, tips, and most seniors’ Social Security benefits, Americans can keep more of their hard-earned money.

Latta has represented Ohio’s 5th District in Congress since succeeding Paul Gillmor in 2007. Before his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, he served in both chambers of the Ohio legislature as well as on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. Born in Bluffton, Ohio in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University (BA) and the University of Toledo (JD).
