Rep. Bob Latta, who represents Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding community engagement and national observances.
On March 27, 2026, Latta expressed appreciation for a local educational institution: “Thank you to @VSCTC for the opportunity to visit and see firsthand the incredible learning experiences being provided to students. I greatly enjoyed hearing from students about their plans and goals after graduation. #OH5 https://t.co/wPo3zoLObl”
Two days later, on March 29, 2026, he marked a significant date in the Christian calendar with the post: “Today marks the final Sunday of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week. https://t.co/WnV5DapSJL”
That same day, Latta also commemorated Vietnam War veterans by stating: “We remember the more than 58,000 names on the Wall and honor the millions who returned home and continued serving our communities.

Latta has served in Congress since 2007 after succeeding Paul Gillmor. He previously held positions in both chambers of Ohio’s legislature as well as on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. Born in Bluffton, Ohio in 1956, Latta resides in Bowling Green and holds degrees from Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.
