Rep. Bob Latta, who represents Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on social media regarding his activities and legislative efforts.

On February 24, 2026, Latta announced his guest for the State of the Union address: “I am pleased that Chuck Bills, President and CEO of Ohio Logistics, will be my guest at this year’s State of the Union address. A steadfast leader from Findlay, Chuck has led the company with a strong commitment to innovation, growth, and support for Ohio’s workforce. It is https://t.co/SolNLfIRME”.

The following day, February 25, Latta highlighted his legislative work with Representative Morgan Griffith: “My legislation with @RepMGriffith, the HALT Fentanyl Act, is protecting American communities by tackling deadly fentanyl substances and saving lives! https://t.co/KXSFLPfPV6”.

Later on February 25 after President Biden’s address to Congress, Latta commented on national policy direction: “Last night, @POTUS delivered the State of the Union address to a Joint Session of Congress. America is winning, and when policies focus on better outcomes for American families and workers, our country thrives. Read my full statement here: https://t.co/cCWW8unGhz”.

Latta has represented Ohio’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Paul Gillmor in 2007. Prior to his tenure in Washington D.C., he served in both chambers of the Ohio legislature as well as on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. Born in Bluffton in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green at age 67, Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University (BA) and the University of Toledo (JD).
