Rep. Bob Latta shares updates on local meetings and Good Friday reflection

Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, recently shared updates on his social media account regarding local engagements and religious observances.

On April 2, 2026, Latta posted about meeting with a university official: “Great to catch up with @bgsu’s Athletic Director Derek van der Merwe.”

The following day, he acknowledged the significance of Good Friday for Christians worldwide by stating on April 3, 2026: “On Good Friday, Christians across the world remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.”

Later that same day, Latta expressed gratitude towards a local business during a site visit: “I thank the Louis Dreyfus Company for allowing me to see the construction of the soybean processing plant. This operation will help our area farmers.”

Latta has represented Ohio’s 5th District in Congress since succeeding Paul Gillmor in 2007. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Ohio legislature and as a Wood County Commissioner. Born in Bluffton, Ohio in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta is an alumnus of Bowling Green State University and holds a law degree from the University of Toledo.
