Amherst home prices rise in the third quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2019 in Amherst rose by $18,000 while total sales increased by 101.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2019, there were 113 homes sold, with a median sale price of $173,000 - a 11.6% increase over the $155,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 56 homes sold in Amherst in the third quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Amherst for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $2,507, approximately 1.4% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2019.
