State Representative Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) has announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has allocated $500,000 to the Department of Mental Health for constructing a new community health center for Lorain County Health and Dentistry.
The funds have been used to build the new facility in North Ridgeville, located on Center Ridge Road. The center includes seven medical exam rooms, six dental operatories, two behavioral health offices, and additional clinical and administrative space. It aims to provide primary and preventative medical care, behavioral and substance addiction services, and dentistry treatments.
"Community health centers are a critical care facility that help with the routine health needs of Ohioans," said Manning. "They are providing the necessary care in areas where Ohioans lack access to health care."
Manning attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly opened facility, which is now accepting patients.
The Ohio Controlling Board oversees financial legislative matters related to capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. The next meeting of the controlling board is scheduled for Oct. 21.
