Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, shared updates on his official X account this week regarding meetings with pediatric healthcare leaders and reactions to national events.

On September 10, 2025, Latta posted about a recent visit from several Ohio-based children’s hospitals to his Washington office: "Great to have @ClevelandClinic Children's Hospital, @OhioChildHosp, and @nationwidekids stop by my Washington, DC office this week to discuss advancing pediatric care and ensuring children across Ohio continue to have access to the best treatments available."

Later that day, he expressed support for conservative commentator Charlie Kirk and his family in a brief message: "Marcia and I are praying for Charlie Kirk and his family." The same evening, Latta responded publicly to reports of a school shooting in Colorado: "Marcia and I are heartbroken by the news of the shooting at Evergreen High School in Colorado. We ask you to join us in praying for the students, families, and the entire community."

Bob Latta has served as a member of Congress since replacing Paul Gillmor in 2007. Before joining Congress, he held positions in both chambers of the Ohio state legislature as well as serving on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. Born in Bluffton, Ohio in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta earned his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University before receiving a law degree from the University of Toledo.
