Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, highlighted recent community and health-related engagements in a series of posts on September 12, 2025.

On the afternoon of September 12, Latta shared his participation at an event for Ohio State University students: "Marcia and I enjoyed meeting with many @OhioState University students at the Buckeyes on the Hill event. We had interesting conversations on their majors and future endeavors. #GoBuckeyes #OSU" (posted at 16:43 UTC).

Later that day, he recognized his wife Marcia's contributions to cancer prevention efforts: "The @preventcancer's #CongressionalFamilies Program honored my wife, Marcia, with the Congressional Families Leadership Award for her longtime commitment to the program & cancer prevention. I’m so proud of the work Marcia does in this space—congratulations to all the honorees!" (posted at 18:58 UTC).

In a subsequent post focused on public health awareness, Latta stated: "There are many ways we can take action to prevent cancer. Regular mammograms, skin checks, and colonoscopies every ten years are simple steps that can save lives. As @MLattaUF says, prevention is powerful.

Don’t wait. Protect your health today! @preventcancer" (posted at 20:37 UTC).

Latta has represented Ohio’s 5th District in Congress since succeeding Paul Gillmor in 2007 and previously served in various state-level positions including terms in both chambers of the Ohio legislature and as a Wood County Commissioner. He was born in Bluffton, Ohio in 1956 and currently resides in Bowling Green. Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University (BA) and the University of Toledo (JD).
