Rep. Bob Latta, who represents Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media addressing recent tragedies and commemorations. Latta’s posts included condolences for Charlie Kirk, remembrance of the September 11 attacks, and acknowledgment of veterans during an Honor Flight event.

On September 10, 2025, Latta wrote about the death of Charlie Kirk: "Charlie Kirk’s life was tragically and horribly cut short by an assassin. A young father, a husband, and a mentor to many, Charlie stood up for what he believed in. Please remember Charlie and his family in your prayers.

There is no room in this world for political violence."

The following day marked the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. On September 11, Latta posted: "Today marks 24 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks that changed our nation forever. On that morning, 2,977 innocent lives were taken, and countless families were left with heartbreak, and every American reeled in communal pain. We remember the bravery of the first".

On September 12, Latta participated in an event honoring military veterans from his district: "Honored to join Flag City Honor Flight’s 32nd mission on the National Mall which included veterans from #OH5. Always grateful to have the opportunity to thank our veterans. More from @13abc: https://t.co/czqYz599oD".
