Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, posted several statements on September 15, 2025, addressing the passing of notable Ohioans and recent legislative efforts.

Later that day, Latta expressed condolences following the death of business leader Mike Gibbons: "Marcia and I are saddened by the death of our good friend, Mike Gibbons. Mike was a tremendous business leader who cared deeply about Ohio and our nation.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Diane, his family, and everyone who knew him." This statement was posted at 13:37 UTC.
On the same day at 17:31 UTC, Latta commented on recent tax legislation related to energy policy: "As chairman of the Energy Subcommittee on @HouseCommerce, I was proud to support the working family tax cuts because it restores American energy dominance and lowers energy costs for families in #OH5 and across the country.
It’s time to unleash American energy!"
