In a post made at 12:44 p.m. UTC, Latta wrote: "I recently joined Chris Oaks on @WFINradio to discuss the bill I reintroduced to expand rural broadband access and the need for permitting reform, both for energy production and for telecommunications."
Later that afternoon, at 3:11 p.m. UTC, he reflected on a congressional gathering held in memory of Charlie Kirk: "Last night, I joined Members of Congress for a prayer vigil in the U.S. Capitol honoring the life of Charlie Kirk. Together, we lifted up his wife, children, and all those mourning his passing. May his legacy live on, and may he rest in peace."

Latta has served as Ohio’s 5th District representative in Congress since succeeding Paul Gillmor in 2007. Before entering Congress, he held positions in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007 and served on the Ohio Senate from 1997 to 2000 as well as on the Wood County Board of Commissioners from 1991 to 1996. Born in Bluffton in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University (BA) and the University of Toledo (JD).
