Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, recently addressed appliance standards, energy policy, and Constitution Day in a series of posts on his social media account.

On September 16, 2025, Latta expressed concern over federal regulations on home appliances: "Mandates on appliance standards are raising costs while limiting choices for American families. Alongside @HouseCommerce, I'm working to deliver the freedom for all Americans to choose what appliance goes in their home."

Later that day, he highlighted legislative efforts aimed at bolstering the nation's energy sector: "Through the working family tax cuts, we are advancing American energy dominance by investing in new projects and technologies while supporting market-driven energy sources. These investments will strengthen our economy, lower costs, and secure our energy future."

On September 17, 2025, Latta marked Constitution Day by reflecting on the nation’s founding document: "#OTD in 1787, our Founders signed the U.S. Constitution, establishing the framework that has preserved our freedoms and guided our nation for more than two centuries. This #ConstitutionDay, we honor their vision, the principles that continue to shape our democracy..."

Latta has represented Ohio's 5th District in Congress since succeeding Paul Gillmor in 2007. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly and as a Wood County Commissioner. Born in Bluffton in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.
