Rep. Bob Latta addresses POW remembrance and state park honors in recent posts

Rep. Bob Latta, who represents Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several issues on his social media account, including honoring prisoners of war, government funding, and recognition for Ohio’s state parks.

On September 19, 2025, Latta posted: "Today, we pause to honor America’s Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action. We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and our solemn duty to never forget."

Later that day, he commented on recent legislative actions: "Today, I voted to keep our government open and serving the American people while supporting efforts to return Congress to regular funding procedures. This short-term, clean funding resolution prevents harmful disruptions to our national security and ensures that vital federal"

On September 21, 2025, Latta recognized a state achievement: "Congratulations to Ohio’s State Parks for being recognized as the best park system in the nation for its outstanding recreation programs and services! Whether it’s hiking, fishing, or simply enjoying the outdoors, there’s always something to explore. Be sure to get outside and"

Latta has served in Congress since 2007 after replacing Paul Gillmor. Before his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, he held positions in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007, the Ohio Senate from 1997 to 2000, and was a member of the Wood County Board of Commissioners from 1991 to 1996. Born in Bluffton in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green at age 67, Latta graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BA in 1978 and earned a JD from the University of Toledo in 1981.
