Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, recently used his social media platform to share updates on upcoming events and policy positions relevant to his constituents.
On September 22, 2025, Latta announced an opportunity for local students: "Attention all #OH5 high school students! My office will be holding two U.S. Military Service Academy Information Nights. This is a great opportunity to learn about the application process and meet representatives from the U.S. Military Service Academies."
Two days later, on September 24, he addressed economic issues facing families in his district: "The working family tax cuts support the hardworking families, farmers, and small businesses that keep our communities in #OH5 thriving. These tax cuts give Ohioans the relief they need to grow, invest, and succeed."
That same day, Latta also commented on national energy policy: "America must streamline its permitting process to secure the energy needed to keep our nation competitive. Read more in my op-ed with @heather_reams, President & CEO of @CresEnergy, in the @DC_Reporter."
Latta has represented Ohio’s 5th District since replacing Paul Gillmor in Congress in 2007 and previously served at various levels of state government including the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate as well as on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. Born in Bluffton in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University (BA) and the University of Toledo (JD).
