University(1000)

Lorain County Community College issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.

Lorain County Community College now offers seven micro-credentials for low or no cost to those who are underemployed or unemployed through the State of Ohio’s Individual Micro-credential Assistance Program (IMAP).

LCCC is one of 12 designated training locations in Ohio to offer a variety of short-term credentials through IMAP, which covers the cost of tuition, fees and textbooks up to $3,000. These industry-recognized credentials in the fields of coding, cyber-security, programming, data management, production, soldering and more can be completed in less than 16 weeks, and many programs are available completely online.

“LCCC is proud to partner with the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation and the Ohio Development Services Agency to provide funding for these short-term, industry recognized micro-credentials,” said LCCC President Marcia Ballinger, Ph.D. “These technology-focused credentials will help prepare our residents for the increasingly technology-infused economy.”
