State Representative Gayle Manning joined a press conference celebrating the efforts of Children's Hospitals’ Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS). The Ohio-founded initiative announced that it has prevented more than 30,109 children from experiencing serious harm since its start.

The SPS program, launched in 2009 at the Ohio Statehouse, has expanded from its original eight members to over 150 hospitals across North America. These hospitals collaborate by sharing data and working towards eliminating serious safety events.

“I applaud the collaborative effort over the past 16 years to improve hospital safety and ultimately the wellbeing of Ohio children,” stated Manning.

Other participants included Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, State Senator Bill Reineke, SPS advocates and hospital leaders, and Pat Tiberi, President and CEO of the Ohio Business Roundtable.

Further details on SPS can be accessed online.
