Rep. Bob Latta, who has represented Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress since 2007, recently shared updates on local events and national remembrance through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On August 23, 2025, Latta highlighted a community tradition, stating, "The Pemberville Free Fair kicked off on Wednesday and ends today. There is so much to see, do, and eat. Last night was the annual run, and the weather was perfect for the participants. #WoodCounty".

Two days later, on August 25, 2025, he offered congratulations to Bowling Green State University: "Congratulations, @bgsu! Looking forward to watching in 2027!".

On August 26, 2025, Latta marked the anniversary of a significant event involving American service members: "Four years have passed since 13 American service members were killed during the withdrawal from Afghanistan as they carried out a mission to evacuate civilians. We remember their bravery, mourn their loss, and remain committed to honoring their sacrifice."

Latta’s ongoing engagement with both local communities—such as those in Wood County—and broader national issues reflects his longstanding public service career. Before joining Congress in 2007 following Paul Gillmor's tenure, Latta served in several roles including the Ohio House of Representatives (2001-2007), Ohio Senate (1997-2000), and Wood County Board of Commissioners (1991-1996). Born in Bluffton in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta is also an alumnus of Bowling Green State University and holds a law degree from the University of Toledo.
