The Ohio Controlling Board has approved the release of $230,129.32 for Lorain County Community College. The funds, sourced from the Campus Safety Grant Program, are designated for security upgrades across the campus. Speaker Pro Tempore Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announced the approval.

The college plans to utilize the funding to replace and upgrade cameras and memory cards. Additionally, network infrastructure will be installed in several buildings including the Physical Sciences building, Stocker Arts building, Library Community Resource Center, and the Physical Education building.

“These upgrades will enhance student and staff safety on campus,” said Manning. “It will also equip the college and law enforcement to better respond should an emergency arise.”

The Ohio Controlling Board is responsible for overseeing requests related to changes in budgetary authority for state agencies.
