Rep. Bob Latta, who has represented Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress since 2007, recently shared several updates on social media regarding local events and policy matters. Latta, a Bowling Green resident and former member of both the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate, highlighted topics ranging from wildlife awareness to federal tax policy and veteran support initiatives.

On July 10, 2025, Latta posted about wildlife safety in his hometown: "A sure traffic stopper in Bowling Green! Always be on the lookout for wildlife. #wildlife @DucksUnlimited @ohiodnr".

The following day, July 11, 2025, Latta discussed recent legislative developments during a radio appearance: "Earlier today I joined Chris Oaks on @WFINradio to talk about the generational tax cuts delivered in the Big Beautiful Bill. We were able to lock in @POTUS’ tax cuts and shield working families, farmers and small business owners from the largest tax hike in American history."

On July 13, 2025, Latta recognized a community event honoring veterans: "This weekend, the Flag City Honor Flight held its annual fundraiser in Findlay. The Honor Flight has hosted over 2,000 veterans on 31 trips to Washington, DC. Veterans are able to visit their war memorials and in many cases remember their fallen comrades. It’s a privilege to meet".

Bob Latta was born in Bluffton, Ohio in 1956 and currently resides in Bowling Green. He holds degrees from Bowling Green State University (BA) and the University of Toledo (JD). Before joining Congress after Paul Gillmor's tenure ended in 2007, he served at various levels of state government including as Wood County Commissioner.
