State Senator Nathan Manning and State Representative Gayle Manning have announced the approval of $67,412,580 in funding from the All Ohio Future Fund for an industrial project in Lorain County. The Ohio Controlling Board's decision aims to address infrastructure challenges by developing a 1,000-acre site near the Lorain County Regional Airport. This initiative is expected to enhance manufacturing and industrial growth in the area.
Senator Manning highlighted the project's potential economic impact: "We are very excited about the economic impact this project will have, not only in Lorain County but the entire region." The development includes a runway expansion to accommodate increased traffic.
Key supporters of this initiative include local stakeholders such as LORCO, Lorain County Sanitary Engineer, and several cities including Vermillion and Avon Lake. JobsOhio and Team NEO have also played significant roles. The county's strategic plan encompasses five main areas: industry development, transportation, workforce education, housing, and natural resources.
Representative Manning expressed satisfaction with collaborative efforts: “It was great working with Commissioners Moore, Riddell, and Gallagher on this collaborative effort with the Department of Development.” Administrator Jeff Armbruster emphasized ongoing support from both Mannings as essential for advancing the project.
The All Ohio Future Fund was established as part of the 2024-25 state budget to aid local communities in attracting economic development projects. "We are grateful to the Mannings for their critical support," stated Administrator Armbruster regarding their advocacy for continued progress on this initiative.
