State Representative Gayle Manning (R-Avon) announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved the release of nearly $2.4 million in funding for Lorain Community College. This funding will support two significant initiatives at the college.
The first initiative involves an allocation of $2,207,075.24 for targeted upgrades across the campus. These upgrades include replacing the roofs of the Spitzer Conference Center and University Center buildings, originally installed in 1994 and 1998 respectively.
“These updates will modernize the infrastructure of the Spitzer Center and University Center, which serve our students and are home to many events that spur economic activity, benefitting the local economy in Lorain County and the greater region,” said Manning.
The second initiative allocates $180,756.18 for purchasing essential equipment for workforce training. The equipment includes A-dec Dental chairs and a pediatric X-ray manikin for the dental hygiene program.
“This is a direct investment in our future workforce,” said Manning. “This equipment will ensure our dental students receive the best education and training before stepping into the workforce!”
