Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, posted a series of tweets this week highlighting local events, energy policy discussions, and a personal celebration.

On July 21, Latta promoted a longstanding community tradition: "The 183rd Seneca County Fair begins this week with 4-H and FFA projects, great food, and something to do for the entire family. Make sure you make it out! #SenecaCountyFair https://t.co/KU7a1ya2p7".

Addressing national energy policy on July 22, Latta wrote about a recent congressional subcommittee hearing: "Today in the Energy subcommittee of @HouseCommerce we heard it loud and clear: pipelines are the CLEANEST and SAFEST way to move energy, especially as the demand for reliable and affordable energy keeps growing. https://t.co/xhNDbEs6bl".

On July 23, he marked a personal milestone by honoring his wife’s birthday: "Happy birthday to my wonderful wife, Marcia. She dedicates herself to making our world a better place. As the chair of Ohio’s State Parks Foundation, Marcia is working to make Ohio’s state parks the best in the land. https://t.co/LFTKZmN5gf".

Latta has served in Congress since replacing Paul Gillmor in 2007 after prior service in both chambers of Ohio's legislature and on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. He was born in Bluffton in 1956 and resides in Bowling Green. Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University (BA) and the University of Toledo (JD).
