Bob Latta highlights agriculture recognition and legislative progress on July 23

Rep. Bob Latta, who represents Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of updates on July 23, 2025, highlighting local agriculture, legislative progress on healthcare policy, and expressing support for law enforcement following an incident in Lorain County.

In his first post of the day, Latta commended local agricultural achievements: "Great to see @OhioAgriculture highlighting the best of Ohio agriculture, especially proud to see Lorain County, part of #OH5, recognized! Agriculture is at the heart of our community and our economy." (July 23, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Latta announced legislative progress regarding access to over-the-counter medicines: "The @HouseCommerce just advanced my bill to reauthorize the Over-the-Counter Monograph User Fee Act, which has improved access to over-the-counter medicines. It now awaits consideration on the House floor. Read more about the bill here: https://t.co/L4FoiE99o1" (July 23, 2025).

In his final tweet of the day, Latta addressed a violent incident involving law enforcement officers in Lorain County: "Marcia and I are praying for the officers who were savagely ambushed today in Lorain County. We are also praying for their families, friends and the entire community.

We are deeply grateful for law enforcement officers in Ohio and across the country, and we thank them for their" (July 23, 2025).

Latta has served as U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 5th District since 2007 after succeeding Paul Gillmor. Before his tenure in Congress, he held positions in both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly and served as a county commissioner. Born in Bluffton in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.
