Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, recently shared a series of posts on social media highlighting his community involvement and the recognition of public service in Ohio.
On July 29, Latta posted about his participation at a local fair: "Marcia and I always enjoy volunteering at the Wood County 4-H milkshake stand at the Wood County Fair. @4H offers our youth great life skills that will benefit them for their entire lives. Wood County has over 1000 youth participating in 45 clubs and has 187 volunteers. Come out".
The following day, July 30, he recognized an Ohio police officer's sacrifice: "Today, the entire state of Ohio honored Officer Phillip Wagner of the Lorain Police Department, a devoted husband, father, and selfless public servant who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his community. May we never forget to honor those who put service above self. May".
On July 31, Latta acknowledged interns working in his offices: "Happy #NationalInternDay! We’re grateful to have an exceptional group of summer interns in both our DC and #BowlingGreen offices. Whether it’s engaging with constituents, leading Capitol tours, or supporting legislative work, they’ve been an incredible asset to our team.
Thank".
Latta has represented Ohio’s 5th District since replacing Paul Gillmor in Congress in 2007. Prior to his current role, he served on the Wood County Board of Commissioners from 1991 to 1996, in the Ohio Senate from 1997 to 2000, and then in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007 (https://bioguide.congress.gov/search/bio/L000566).
