Rep. Bob Latta, who represents Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted local community events and milestones in a series of posts on his social media account.

On August 3, 2025, Latta acknowledged the long-standing success of a local fundraiser, stating, "The Wood County 4-H Bake Sale was held at the @woodcountyfair where current 4-H’ers and 4-H alumni bring their favorite recipes. Over 22 years, the bake sale has brought in around $140,000 which helps with purchasing project books for 4-H members and camp scholarships. Thank you".

A day later, on August 4, he marked an important anniversary for a regional educational institution: "Saint Louis School in Custar is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. What a great achievement! Marcia and I have attended their annual BBQ for years, and everyone is especially happy that the cucumber salad is back."

Also on August 4, Latta expressed appreciation for the U.S. Coast Guard’s service: "Happy birthday, @USCG! Thank you for protecting our ports, harbors, and waterways."

Latta has represented Ohio's 5th District since succeeding Paul Gillmor in Congress in 2007. Prior to his tenure in Washington D.C., he served in both chambers of Ohio’s legislature as well as on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. Born in Bluffton and currently residing in Bowling Green, Latta holds degrees from Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.
