Rep. Bob Latta, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 5th district since 2007, recently shared updates on Medicaid policy, local events, and manufacturing initiatives through a series of posts on social media.
On August 18, 2025, Latta commented on federal health care policy: "Medicaid is an indispensable lifeline for our nation's most vulnerable populations. @POTUS' budget act ensures that Medicaid prioritizes expectant mothers, seniors, children, and individuals with disabilities while cutting back on the waste, fraud, and abuse that have hurt the".
Later that day, Latta highlighted a major community event in his district: "The Lorain County Fair officially kicked off on Sunday, and it is one of the largest in Ohio. This morning, the breakfast was held with a huge turnout. Be sure to come out for a great time! #LorainCountyFair https://t.co/9IWpL1Y4uS".
On August 20, 2025, he reported on efforts to strengthen regional industry: "I attended a Legislative Manufacturing Roundtable with @bgsu, @OwensCC, @ufindlay, and local leaders in manufacturing and economic development in #OH5. Latta has represented Ohio’s 5th District in Congress since succeeding Paul Gillmor in 2007. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly as well as on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. Born in Bluffton in 1956 and currently residing in Bowling Green at age 67, Latta is an alumnus of Bowling Green State University (BA) and holds a JD from the University of Toledo.
