Rep. Bob Latta, who represents Ohio’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted local energy production, fentanyl prevention efforts, and emergency communications technology in a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 20, 2025, Latta visited a regional energy facility and wrote: "Stopped by the Toledo Refining Company to talk about the importance of producing American-made energy right here in Toledo and how it fuels America’s energy dominance."
The following day, marking National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day on August 21, Latta addressed the ongoing opioid crisis. He posted: "Today is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day, a time to reflect on the devastating impact fentanyl has had on families and communities across the country.
Last month, my bill, the HALT Fentanyl Act, was signed into law by @POTUS. This law permanently places"
Later that same day, Latta shared details from another visit within his district: "Today I visited the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for a FirstNet demonstration, where we learned how the FirstNet system can be utilized during emergencies to keep first responders connected and communities safe. I’m grateful to our law enforcement officers in #OH5 for their"
Latta has served as Ohio's 5th District representative since 2007 after succeeding Paul Gillmor. Before joining Congress, he held positions in both chambers of Ohio's state legislature as well as serving on the Wood County Board of Commissioners. Born in Bluffton in 1956 and now residing in Bowling Green at age 67, Latta earned his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University before receiving a law degree from the University of Toledo.
